A dirty mind is a terrible thing to waste.
— Jules Carlysle

Free handwriting analysis (graphology)

handwriting

“Handwriting is civilization’s casual encephalogram.”
— Lance Morrow

Graphology, the study of handwriting as an indicator of the writer’s disposition or character, examines loops, dotted “i’s” and crossed “t’s,” letter spacing, slant, height, ending strokes, etc.

Graphologists believe that such handwriting details are physical manifestations of  unconscious mental functions and that they can reveal as much about a person as astrology, palm reading,  psychometry,  rumpology, or the Myers-Briggs personality type indicator. Read the rest of this entry »

Would you be tempted by $10,000,000.00?

Posted by Titus-Armand On November - 16 - 2007

In this post I initially planned to talk about the benefits that different opinions present to society. But I had a slight change of mind after stumbling upon a brilliant independent short film on choice.

Black Button

Mr Roberts finds himself awoken inexplicably in a white room. A man sits before him at a desk and in between them stands a black button. If Mr Roberts pushes it, he will receive a briefcase filled with millions of dollars. Or he can take the key to the door and leave penniless. The catch? Pushing the button will result in the death of a human being.

Train your brain

Posted by Titus-Armand On November - 4 - 2007

Because many readers responded positively to a previous post that required a simple counting of how many F’s are in a text, I thought of posting another brain exercise. This one will get your brain on its knees using some simple colors.

What you’ll need to do in this exercise is to read aloud the color of the words below - not the color named by them - and time your performance. Read the rest of this entry »

Readers Day | How smart are you? Count some letters

Posted by Titus-Armand On August - 5 - 2007

“Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage - to move in the opposite direction.” - Albert Einstein

I’ve always agreed to that. And because of that, I’m gonna test your intelligence with a very simple problem.

Below is a quote that I’ve used in a previous post, and what you have to do now is to count how many F’s (both uppercase and lowercase) are in it. Simple enough? I think so. Here it is:

Kant… accepted the notion of things-in-themselves existing independently of any knowledge… As his starting point [he took it] that any specific knowledge we claim to have of such and such an external object is obtained through our senses, [and] hence is at best only indirect and questionable… What we know directly and with certainty is therefore only the set of our ideas. [For example,] the very notion of causality [is] a priori mode of human understanding, in other words, an idea. - d’Espagnat

Finished counting? How many F’s (both uppercase and lowercase) are in that text? Tell us in the comments. I’ll tell you your results there.

Note: Please don’t use the search feature of your browser to count the F’s.
