Improve mood, productivity and health - ergonomics
Anyone who works long hours in front of a computer knows first-hand the importance of a good, ergonomic chair. Not only that it has a great deal of importance in many aspects of our lives (standing, lifting, sitting, sleeping), but a good comfortable ergonomic chair may also increase productivity and improve mood.
If you’re not comfortable at your desk, it’s because you’re probably sitting wrong and as a result, working wrong.
Whether you’re an online business owner, a gamer, or you just enjoy surfing the net for a lot of time, an ergonomic chair is a must and you shouldn’t spare your budget when looking for one. Don’t buythe cheapest chair if you’re on a tight budget, you wouldn’t want to spend money on something that isn’t giving any results, wait until you have enough money for an excellent chair.
How can an ergonomic chair increase your productivity? The answer is simple. It will remove many posture-related strains that usually appear when using a normal chair and thus relive you of some stress that was affecting your work capacity and quality. It will also relieve tension off your muscles, and your heart will be less solicited. As a result of pressure being taken off your body, your mental power will be enhanced, your mood will be improved, and your work results will get better.
As a definition, an ergonomic chair is a chair that has adjustable features to accommodate your specific needs. You don’t need to adjust for your chair, the chair needs to adjust for you.
As a guideline on what to look for when searching for an ergonomic chair, follow these tips:
- Look for a chair that has a firm seat: Not too soft, not too hard. You need to provide support to your bottom.
- Ensure that the chair has a level seat surface, without any exaggerated dips and bumps.
- Make sure that the seat isn’t too deep. The seat of a good computer chair shouldn’t be deeper then the length of your thigh, and your buttocks should be able to reach the back of the chair.
- Look for chairs that have almost right angles between the seat and the back of the chair.
- Look for good back support: You need to sit up straight.
- Find a chair with as many adjustments as possible.
- And finally, don’t just look at chairs, test them. Look at them only to narrow down the possibilities, but when deciding which one to buy, testing is crucial.
And as a final advice: after buying an excellent ergonomic chair that fits your needs, remember that any fixed posture, no matter how closely it approaches the optimal, will still generate muscle fatigue. movement, more than anything else, provides nourishment for the spine, keeps the joints lubricated and flexible, improves circulation and removes waste products from the muscles. Movement provides nourishment for the spine, keeps the joints lubricated and flexible, improves circulation and removes waste products from the muscles. By movement I’m not referring only to getting up and walking around or exercising, frequent positional changes are also effective.
Ergonomics are a very important factor for productivity, and also for health and overall well-being. This is a very good ergonomic chair, I highly recommend it.
I’ve just bought one today and after just a few hours of use I’m already feeling a productivity increase and a mood improvement. I didn’t think that this was so important.
